"The story begins with a young girl named Bafulatana, who is estimated to be around 16 years old.
She is on a journey with her mother, facing challenges due to a scarcity of water. As they travel, they encounter various obstacles, including a confrontation with a stranger who poses a threat. Despite the difficulties, they press on, with Bafulatana showing determination to overcome them. After traveling about two kilometers from the town to their village, they approach their home. Bafulatana notices signs of distress in her mother's expression and asks, 'Hello, Innatu, what's wrong?' Her mother gestures towards a silver jar and indicates that they need to fetch water quickly.
Bafulatana then rushes to the well, fills the jar with water, and hurries back to her mother, offering gratitude. 'Today, the Burtsatsen from Yobe blocked the water, causing trouble in the village.
I went to the governor's house, and we managed to get water, but I didn't bring any for our household,' her mother explains. Bafulatana takes a rope and quickly lowers a bucket into the well, drawing water and pouring it into the jar.
She feels a sense of urgency, but the stranger from earlier does not leave her thoughts. Despite her concerns, she continues to fulfill her duties at home."
