He was in a hurry because today was his best friend’s wedding, and it was essential for him to attend. From a distance, he spotted someone clearly in need of assistance. He parked his car ahead of the man’s car and got out.
"Hello, Alhaji."
"Hello, young man."
"Did something happen to your car?"
"Yes, the tire is flat, and I don’t have a spare."
"Subhanallah! I have a spare tire in my trunk."
He went around to get the spare tire for the man. "Let me go ahead a little; there are some repairmen there. I'll bring them to fix it for you."
"Thank you very much," said Daddy, smiling broadly. Safeer went ahead while Daddy waited. In less than 20 minutes, Safeer returned with two men who fixed the tire.
"Thank you so much, young man."
"It's nothing, really; it’s a pleasure to help."
"Where are you headed?" Daddy asked.
"I'm going to Karaye for my friend’s wedding."
"That's where I'm headed too."
They both got into their cars and drove to the wedding. The wedding was completed swiftly once they arrived.
After the wedding, Alhaji Al'ameen Sarakee managed to have a private conversation with Safeer, during which he handed him his business card. "Here’s my card; please visit me at my office tomorrow."
"Thank you, I will, insha'Allah."
"ASSALAMU ALAIKUM"
"WA ALAIKUMUSSALAM, welcome, Alhaji."
"Hello, Ammii, how’s the household?"
"Everyone is fine," Ammii said as she followed Alhaji to his room.
Three hours later, Ammii called out, "Shukra, your father wants to speak with you."
"Alright, Ammii," Shukra replied, getting up from her bed.
Entering her father's room respectfully, she greeted him. He responded with a smile. After a moment, Daddy cleared his throat and began to speak.
"Shukra, I want you to listen carefully and understand that what I’m about to tell you is an order, not a suggestion."
Shukra’s heart started pounding rapidly. What could her father possibly want to tell her?
"Are you listening?" he interrupted her thoughts.
"Yes," she managed to reply, paying close attention.
"I have chosen a husband for you, and soon you will meet and get to know each other."
"A husband?" Shukra exclaimed, eyes wide with shock.
"Yes, a husband. What’s the matter?"
"I thought you said something that couldn't be true."
"It is true, and you will see for yourself," he said, leaving the house immediately after making the announcement.
